FAQs
Common questions.
Why WordPress rather than Squarespace or Wix?
Because you own it. WordPress runs 43 percent of the web and every host on Earth supports it. Squarespace and Wix hold the site hostage; you can’t take it with you. On WordPress, our exit is one SFTP download and a database export.
Do I own everything after launch?
Yes. Site files, database, domain, DNS, hosting invoice, admin login. If we get hit by a bus you can log in with any WordPress developer in the country tomorrow and keep going.
What happens if a WordPress update breaks the site?
On the Care plan we run updates in a staging copy first, then push to live once it passes visual regression checks. Off the Care plan, updates are your responsibility, but we’re a phone call away and charge by the half hour to fix anything that snaps.
Can you migrate from my existing platform?
Yes. Squarespace, Wix, Weebly, Shopify, Duda, Google Sites, or a hand-coded PHP site from 2011. We rebuild the pages, migrate the URLs, put 301 redirects on the rest, and roll your Google rankings across.
How much editing can I do myself?
Text, images, prices, opening hours, blog posts, new pages that use existing patterns. If you can use Google Docs you can use the WordPress block editor. Anything you can’t figure out, one email and we walk you through it.
Is the Care plan required?
No. It’s optional. But most Liverpool small businesses take it because a broken plugin update at 4pm on a Friday shouldn’t be your problem to solve.
